A long overdue review of Island Wood Vets. They did an amazing job on my dog Polly who needed a mammary lump removed. All staff were welcoming and very professional and my dog was completely at ease. I was worried since she is an older dog and had to be put under anesthetic. Vet and staff kept me updated throughout the procedure. They also followed up a number of times afterwards to make sure the wound healed and everything was ok. All at no extra charge. Polly is now fully healed and back to herself again. Best vets I've been to bar none highly recommend.

I always know that our pets will get the best possible care from Jane and the team at Island Wood vets. Every member of staff shows genuine empathy for each individual animal, and their professional expertise is outstanding. The vets are always calm and reassuring, which is great in emergency situations! They always make sure to explain exactly what is happening, what the options are, and how best to proceed. Our dog Bobbie recently had a large surgery, which was a worrying experience, but we knew she was in wonderful hands. The surgery was a great success. Jane and the team were so careful to minimize Bobbie's discomfort and the aftercare has been fantastic. Our two cats have also had great care at Island Wood vets. They diagnosed our cat Gem with a urinary issue that was causing him a lot of misery a couple of years ago. With the right care and diet, he is now absolutely thriving. I completely trust and would highly recommend Island Wood vets. Thanks for looking after our beloved pets!

From positive first impressions on ringing the practice to the helpful and courteous manner in dealing with all staff. I was fortunate to discover Jane and her Team at Island Wood Vets when I took my elder hyperthyroid cat here who was proving to be quite challenging in obtaining bloodwork from. Jane exuded a calmness and competence and I found that on arrival to the vets room that the anxious cat was given some time and understanding before successfully obtaining the blood sample. This was re-assuring from both Doodle’s and my point of view, I felt those extra all important few minutes and gradual approach made such a difference. We managed to successfully get her condition under control and without dread went back many times for further follow-ups and bloodwork. Doodle in her elder years also began to enjoy the benefits of nebulisation therapy in our homemade d.i.y nebulisation box. Over time, in my case with the cats and my dealings with Island Wood Vets - from routine check-ups to more complex management cases, to rehabilitative care approaches and to the empathy shown to the pets and that of their owners in their beloved pets end-of-life care, I found that Jane on a one-to-one shows a very genuine interest and decisive care approach to the animals and her and the team all work very well on an individual and collaborative basis. I have seen many first-hand examples of this and all are familiar and well briefed on ongoing individual client cases, which from an ownership perspective can be very re-assuring as there is the benefit of a good back-up and support available at all times.

Island Wood Veterinary Hospital have been looking after our family pet Coco & to say they are excellent is an understatement. Jane is so professional as a vet but also so caring & understanding, Aoife the nurse is so good to explain follow-up treatments & Eileen & Maura on the phones are also very helpful. The backroom staff are also very willing & friendly each time we visit the practise. I certainly wouldn't want any other vet or practice looking after our pet.
